Cheongsam in Turquoise

Never knew what a Qipau was until recently (the last few months to be exact)...now I do...Qipau = Cheongsam. This particular one was a gift from my cousin two years ago but just didn't have the time to send it for alterations. I finally did and decided to use it for our wedding day...

Golden laces....

I love shoes, just wish I could have the amount of shoes like Jessica in the Gem of Life. Actually wanted to post this pair here quite some time ago but just didn't have the time to get a good, clear picture of it. Specifically bought this for the wedding but ended up wearing another pair instead.

Still, did not regret getting it....it's really comfortable, though the platform's a bit too high for me.

Jingle to A New Year...

Christmas signifies the end of the year and lots of holidays, of course....we went up Genting for a day trip a week before the x'mas break....thought of going up during the long weekend but knew that it will be too packed...even on a normal weekend, the place is already full of people (must be the school holidays -.-)

The weather was good, cooling with lots of mists....there was nothing much to do except for visiting the casino and the theme park. Food is definitely pricier than normal, double i would say...

This artist actually caught my attention as he was sketching a lilttle boy's eyes....it looked so real, dark, dazzling eyes, sharper than the actual eyes...hehe....

Was wondering how long the boys had to sit there waiting for their potrait....but, he was so quick that I think they only had to be there for a good 10 minutes....anyway, we did not wait for him to finish...there were other things to see....

This x'mas, I got a bear from an exchange gift steamboat session....adding Chris (yes, that's his name, short for Christmas) to my babies collection. Our budget was supposed to be RM15 but I think this buyer's got a bit more generosity....

A Year Older A Year Wiser or Reunion?

Glutinous rice balls or better known with the Chinese as 'Tang Yuan'...if you're wondering what's that strip of thing in the middle, it's ginger : )

I asked mum a long time ago about us having to consume this desert towards every year end (not that it's difficult to savor, in fact, I LOVE it!) Well, she just said that it's for us to grow a year older and wiser. There's also a story that people in the olden days used to work hard for the whole year and do not have time to return for a family reunion. Thus, this festival (the name of the desert actually imply REUNION in Chinese) was created a month before the Chinese New Year to gather relatives to prepare for the celebrations...

Enough said about this desert, the very first item prepared from our new induction cooker. Also, there's the fried rice which took 'Hon' 1 1/2 hours to prepare. Tasted good, no doubt, but I was so hungry that I've already gulped down a bowl of our desert before it was ready.

Of course we had something else to compliment the already ever tasty fried rice...

Never knew that 1kg of this spicy cabbage could cost up to RM36 a bag....

Frozen Kimchi...Good things comes with a price I guess...

Hundred years of blissful togetherness

This wedding couple doll was a gift from our reception guests. We actually wanted to get something like this on our own but remembered sis mentioning that this kind of stuff should come as a present from others...happy that it's ours now....thanks to our thoughtful guest.

Our wedding lamp is so-called traditional as we did not want an electric or battery operated one. But, it's not an ordinary oil lamp either as we couldn't get it to lit with oil alone....had to use turpentine instead.

Night shot of our lamp in action!

Then, there's our wedding car decoration using flowers bought earlier...

More flowers...classic cream rose hand bouquet....with berries added to our request...berries thrown in FREE from the florist : )

And...shoes to match...bought at the very last minute. Not that I did not buy any earlier....bought too many in fact, but, prefer using this comfy low platform pair.

More Preparations...on teapots and boxes

Been really busy these couple of weeks....just wanted to put up some pictures of our stuffs here...

Got this at a bargain....went scouting for teapots all over and finally settled with this...parents asked about the phoenix and dragon symbol on the pot but we figured that we wanted something more contemporary....the tray on the other hand was bought at a Chinese wedding customary shop in KL....traditional yet modern finish....

Tried covering the box using only ONE piece of wrapping paper and ended up getting this!
